Best of China Tour (11 Days) - (Beijing - Xian – Shanghai - Hangzhou - Suzhou)

Day 01. Malta/ Beijing by air


Depart from Malta today aboard a spacious jet for your transpacific journey. When you cross the international dateline from east to west, you lose a day and you will “gain” the lost day back when you fly from China back to Malta.


Day 02. Arrive Beijing


Upon your arrival, our guide will meet you at the airport and then escort you to check into your luxury hotel.


Day 03. Beijing (EB, D)


This morning, you will have a city excursion Tiananmen Square, which is noted as the largest public square in the world and then the Imperial Palace in the Forbidden City. Stop at a Pearl Factory to gain a little knowledge of fresh pearls. Later visit Summer Palace declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1998. In the evening, you will enjoy a Peking duck dinner, the region's famous dish.


Day 04. Beijing (EB, L)


The Great Wall of China is one of the seven greatest man-made wonders of the world and is definitely the focal point of China. You will hike along the Great Wall (Juyongguan Pass). After that, you will stop at a Jade Museum to learn the history of Jade. In Chinese, jade is pronounced as 'Yu', and it has a history in China of at least four thousand years, and followed by a visit to the Beijing Zoo to see the lovely "Giant Pandas". The rest of the afternoon is at leisure to shop and explore on your own.


Day 05. Beijing / Xian by air (EB)


Fly to Xi'an today. Xi'an, the former capital of China, enjoys a rich history of 5000 years. Upon your arrival in Xi'an, visit the 600 years old City Wall surrounding the whole old downtown of Xian with a very wide moat which is the famous landmark of Xian.


Day 06. Xian (EB, L, D)


In 221 BC, Qin Shi Huang unified China and became the first emperor. When he died, an entire Terra Cotta Army was constructed to be buried along with the emperor. It was uncovered serendipitously in 1974 by farmers, and then became one of the century's greatest archeological discoveries. You will visit the Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses Museum, and Terra Cotta Army replication factories.


Dinner show: Chinese traditional dumplings banquet and the Tang Dynasty Dance and Music show.


Day 07. Xian / Shanghai – Suzhou by air (EB)


Fly to Shanghai and be transferred to Suzhou (Lunch will be served on plane). Suzhou, which dates back to 514 BC, is sometimes called the "Venice of the East". The city is famous for its canals and stone bridges. 


Day 08. Suzhou - Hangzhou (EB, L, D)


You will visit San Tang Street which has always been regarded as the first name of Suzhou ancient streets. Shantang Street has a long history of about 1,100 years, its layout and architecture are best to represent the characteristics of Suzhou's old alleys, and it has connections to many ancient Chinese celebrities and anecdotes. The Lingering Garden is a renowned classical Chinese garden and is recognized with other classical Suzhou gardens as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. China is known for its silk, so for sure we will take you to the Silk Spinning Factory. Depart for Hangzhou later.


Day 09. Hangzhou – Shanghai (EB, L)


Hangzhou is one of the seven capitals of ancient China, known for its tea products. Take a small boat ride on the West Lake which reveals the ethereal beauty of Hangzhou's willow draped islands. You will admire also the Su Causeway. It was built in the fifth year of Yuanyou Period in the Northern Song Dynasty (1090) and has evolved since then. Later, you will have a cup of Chinese famous Longjing tea at Green Tea Village, and then drive you to Shanghai. Stop at the city's colonial European past at the Bund before check into your hotel.


Day 10. Shanghai (EB)


Today you will visit Shanghai Museum in the morning, with an audio tour describing the special features of the museum’s permanent collections, the Chenghuang Temple mart and the city’s colonial European past at The Bund.


Day 11. Shanghai / Malta by air (EB)


You will ride the Maglev, the world fastest train to the airport for your return flight back to USA. Your wonderful vacation is over all too soon as you will board the homebound flight and bid a fond farewell to China today. You will gain the lost day back by crossing the international dateline.

1. Gratuity tips to the tour guide and the driver is not included, it is recommended to pay 10 €per day from each of the customer.
2. Visa to China is not included. We can help the customer to apply for the visa. Please see following attached document.
3. Food: food will be included as listed in the itinerary:
EB = English Buffet breakfast in the hotel
L = Lunch (Chinese lunch )
D = Dinner (Chinese dinner)
4. Hotels for the tour: all hotels along the tour will be the 4 stars or 5 stars.
