[AcceSs to MALTA]
Depart from Malta today aboard a spacious jet for your transpacific journey. When you cross the international dateline from east to west, you lose a day and you will “gain” the lost day back when you fly from China back to Malta.
Upon your arrival, our guide will meet you at the airport and then escort you to check into your luxury hotel.
This morning, you will have a city excursion Tiananmen Square, which is noted as the largest public square in the world and then the Imperial Palace in the Forbidden City. Stop at a Pearl Factory to gain a little knowledge of fresh pearls. Later visit Summer Palace declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1998. In the evening, you will enjoy a Peking duck dinner, the region's famous dish.
The Great Wall of China is one of the seven greatest manmade wonders of the world and is definitely the focal point of China. You will hike along the Great Wall (Juyongguan
Pass). After that, you will stop at a Jade Museum to learn the history of Jade. In Chinese, jade is pronounced as 'Yu', and it has a history in China of at least four thousand years, and followed by a visit to the Beijing Zoo to see the lovely "Giant Pandas". The rest of the afternoon is at leisure to shop and explore on your own.
Fly to Xi'an today. Xi'an, the former capital of China, enjoys a rich history of 5000 years. Upon your arrival in Xi'an, visit the 600 years old City Wall surrounding the whole old downtown of Xian with a very wide moat which is the famous landmark of Xian.
In 221 BC, Qin Shi Huang unified China and became the first emperor. When he died, an entire Terra-cotta Army was constructed to be buried along with the emperor. It was uncovered serendipitously in 1974 by farmers, and then became one of the century's greatest archaeological discoveries. You will visit the Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses Museum, and Terra Cotta Army replication factories. Dinner show: Chinese traditional dumplings banquet and the Tang Dynasty Dance and Music show.
Continue your visit in Xian in the morning and fly to Shanghai in the afternoon.
Today you will visit Shanghai Museum in the morning, with an audio tour describing the special features of the museum’s permanent collections, the Chenghuang Temple mart and the city’s colonial European past at The Bund.
You will ride the Maglev, the world fastest train to the airport for your return flight back to Malta. Your wonderful vacation is over all too soon as you will board the homebound flight and bid a fond farewell to China today. You will gain the lost day back by crossing the international dateline.
1. Gratuity tips to the tour guide and the driver is not included, it is recommended to pay €10 per day from each of the customer.
