​FIVE DAY TOUR: ST PAUL'S footprint



Day 1


Pick up from Airport / or Catamaran

Rabat/Mdina/Dingli Cliffs

In Rabat: St. Paul's Church and Grotto (The place where according to tradition St.Paul was held as a prisoner and from where he preached)
The catacombs dedicated to St. Paul and other catacombs where the first Christians after St. Paul buried their dead. In Mdina will visit the old capital city including Cathedral dedicated to St.Paul and cathedral museum optional. We will go to Dingli Cliffs for a beautiful view.

Dinner (Maltese traditional Rabbit)



Day 2


Gozo

On the way to Gozo pass by Burmarrad. We will point it out on the coach, the chapel of St Paul Milqi (The church, which according to tradition was built instead of the palace of Publius, the governor of Malta at the time of St.Paul, and whose father was healed by St. Paul. Recent archaeological excavations revealed the ruins of a Roman country house.)

We will also point out St.Paul island where according to tradition St.Paul was shipwrecked. There is a statue on the islands.

Spend the rest of the day in Gozo. We visit all the popular landmarks of Gozo such as the Citadel in Victoria, the famous Azur Window in Dwejra and the rocky cliffs in Xlendi Bay. Also included is a delicious three course lunch together with a spectacular cultural experience with a visit to Ggantijja Temples (except on Monday) which are known to be the oldest freestanding temples in the world. Since Gozo is well known for its woollen goods and handmade lace, honey and cheese we will also visit the market where we will have free time for shopping.


Day 3


Watching documentary of Paul’s shipwreck

Valletta/ Three cities

This Malta’s capital and a World Heritage site, is an open-air museum and a living experience of Baroque architecture, a monument donated by the Knights of St John.

We will visit: Upper Barracca Gardens; St John’s Co-Cathedral; Gandmasters’ Palace; St.Paul's Church in St.Paul's Street and the chapel dedicated to St.Paul in St.John's Conventual Church.

I would also give them some free time in the city. (Lunch)

We will take the ferry to three cities and visit Maritime museum.


Day 4


Marsaxlokk/ Qrendi/ Zurrieq

Visit the prehistoric temples of Hagar Qim and Mnajdra

Blue Grotto

Fishing village of Marsaxlokk (Lunch)

Dellimara and the bay where recent maritime archaeology is revealing more information about St.Paul's shipwrech.


Day 5 (Optional)


Harbour cruise to Comino or Popeye village where film Popeye took place. (Suitable for family with Children)
